How to use Powder
The powder is used to get finished, shine-free look to makeup. It sets the foundation. The powder comes in compact and loose. For finished poreless look, loose powder is best. To get soft and beautiful look compact powder is useful.
Apply loose powder with a puff slightly. Compact need to apply with a brush using downward movements in order to minimize facial hair. The powder helps your makeup stay for a long time fresh and looks ‘just-put-on’ by stopping oil from coming through.
After foundation never rubs powder on the face but pat or brush. leave for few seconds, then gently dust off the excess with a brush. Never use puff on the compact. Always use thick brush powder to brush yourself. Powder help skin looks flawless and keeps the oil away.
Choosing Correct Shade of Powder
Always select powder matching to your skin tone color or just a shade lighter than your skin tone. If the skin looks pale then choose a powder with a rosy beige tint. If you want to use it over foundation, go in for a translucent powder.
Right way to use Powder on Mature Skin
Avoid powder under eyes on fine lines. The powder gets collect in the under eye lines, making them more prominent.
How to use Blusher
Start by using a little blusher. And gradually build the color to get the desired effect. Don’t use excess blusher as it is difficult to remove, and easy to add more blusher which gives a vibrant look.
Blushers are divided into two types. Cream and Powder blushers.
Powder Blusher: Use after applying powder on face
Powder blusher is good for oily skin it also suits all types of skin. After setting makeup with powder, use powder blusher to get a matte finish. Before using blusher dust the excess blusher from the brush.
Use circulation motion with blusher on the cheeks and then move across the cheekbone towards the hairline. Apply color to the raised portion of the cheeks.
Cream Blusher: Use after applying powder on face
Cream blusher is suitable for dry skin. On the center of the cheeks dot some blusher with your fingertip. On upwards and outwards slant line towards the sides of the forehead use two more dots.
Blend it gently upwards and outwards with fingertips within the raised portion of the cheeks. At the brush or pat powder.
A matte finish with powder blushers is excellent for mature skin.
How to use Shade of Blusher
It depends on complexion that how to use a shade of blushers. A darker shade of blushers for dark and lighter shade blusher should be used for lighter skin. Rosy pink is out of fashion, rosy brown and rosy beige suits Indian complexion.
To avoid blob-like appearance blend well the blushers. It gives good look if blusher matches with lipstick. Pink hint blushers look good with pink lipstick.
Peach blushers with Brown hint suits brown lipstick for dark complexion and use beige for a lighter complexion.
Blusher on Wide Face
Smile and see the round shape of your cheeks. Start brush color at the center outwards eyes and slightly sweep up to the temple.
Blusher on Narrow Face
Smile and observe where your cheeks are rounded? Start brush color at outer half then towards the ears on both the cheeks. Apply a bit on your chin, with the blush left on your brush.
How to Give High Cheek Bone Effect
Just under the cheekbone apply regular blusher in the hollow by moving towards the upper portion of the ear near the temples.
In order to give high cheekbone effect apply a lighter shade blusher on the bone area.
Apply a little amount of regular blusher on the nose, forehead, and chin.
How to Shorten Long Face
Into the hollow of the cheeks apply blusher by blending up to the sides. Avoid blushers on the temple.
Lightly apply on the forehead in order to distract the face length and apply little hint on the chin to reduce length.
How to Emphasize High Cheek Bones
With a blusher draw line two shades darker than your skin shade in the hollow of the cheeks under the cheekbone starting line with the iris of the eye corner and sweep out towards the ear.
The darker shade remaining in the hallow, blend the shades upwards.
