PREMATURE GRAYING OF HAIR
Dear Readers, Premature graying of hair can become troublesome and nowadays it is common problem. A pigment called melanin is present in the roots of the hair. Deficiency of this pigment can lead to graying of hair. Bright sunlight, cosmetics, excessive work, consumption of hot and spicy food, worry, anger, sleeping late at night, constipation etc.
The hair has a tendency to lose its natural color with advancing age. It is therefore natural for the hair to turn gray with age. But premature graying is a morbid condition and it makes even the young look older.
The hair is an appendage of the skin.It is composed of the same kind of cells as in found in the outer layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. It grows from a hair follicle which is a deep recess in the epidermis.
The sebaceous glands of the scalp secret an oily substance called sebum, which is the source of nutrition, luster, and blackness of the hair.
1.A faulty diet and mental worries are the two primary causes of premature graying of hair. It due to the lack of B vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the daily diet.
2.Mental worries, anxieties, fear, jealousy, and failures have adverse effects on the hair.
3.The unclean condition of the scalp weakens the roots of the hair as the pores are blocked by the collected dirt.
4.Head bath with hot water and using hair dryers which emit a blast of hot air.
5.Diseases like chronic cold, sinusitis, anemia, chronic constipation.
6.Heredity is another predisposing factor which gives rise to this ailment.
The person suffering from gray hair should take a diet rich in all essential nutrients. should take food rich in Vitamin B, such as wheat germ, yeast, and liver. The three anti-gray hair can be produced in the intestinal tract by bacteria. Drink a glass of yogurt daily with a tablespoon of yeast before each meal is an excellent remedy for the prevention of premature graying of hair.
Take Iron and iodine in the form of seafood, Fish which is the main source of iodine, Mineral food like carrots, banana, and similar other vegetables and fruits. Carrots are especially useful in furnishing fresh blood and maintaining the health of the hair.
1.The butter made from Cow’s milk has the property to prevent premature graying of hair. Take a small quantity and massage of the hair roots twice a week.
2.Curry leaves have property to give vitality and strength to hair roots. The curry leaves can be used by mixing in buttermilk or lassi. Curry leaves to boil in coconut oil and apply to hair thrice in a week. It is an excellent hair tonic for hair growth and brings back hair pigmentation.
3.Indian gooseberry is an accepted hair tonic for enriching hair growth and hair pigmentation.
Cut the fruit and dry it in shade. Mix in coconut oil and boil it till the solid matter becomes like charred dust.apply on hair as it is an excellent oil to prevent premature graying of hair.
