Mutton Samosa and Potato Samosa


Dear Readers, Today I will teach 2 recipes Mutton Samosa and Potato Samosa. We can make different types of samosas by using same method only need to change ingredients like mutton, chicken, beef, egg, onions,potato, peas and mix vegetable etc. Vegetarian people like to eat veg samosa they can add vegetable in place of meat.

Mutton Samosa ingredients

Refined flour                                                                         150gm

Mutton                                                                                   250gm or as required

Onions                                                                                    100gm

Tomatoes                                                                               50gm

Green chilies                                                                          30gm

Coriander leaves                                                                   small bunch

Cumin leaves                                                                         small bunch

Curry leaves                                                                           1 spring

Lime                                                                                         1 or half

Ginger paste                                                                           half spoon

Garlic paste                                                                             half spoon

Turmeric                                                                                  half spoon

Garama masala powder                                                        1 spoon

Salt                                                                                           for taste

Oil                                                                                             to fry

Mutton Samosa Method

Wash meat three times and set aside. For samosa making need to mince the meat. Sift the flour adding salt and fat. Add enough water to make dough. Knead well, cover and Set aside for 1 hour. Chop onions, green chilies and tomatoes. Wash coriander leaves well and cut it finely.

Heat oil in pan and add oinions and green chilies. Fry for sometime add garlic ginger paste fry and add tomatoes and all other ingredients including salt. Mix well then add minced meat cook on low heat. When meat is cooked and moisture has evaporated add garam masala powder. Mix well fry for 5 minutes and remove.

Knead dough well and divide into samll portons and roll it. The roll should of 3” inches around. Cut down the centre and make cone shape of each piece. Put in preapared mutton masala mixture. Seal the edges using little water. Fry in deep oil till light brown. Serve hot with tomato sauce.

Potato Samosa

Lets learn how to make potato samosa. Method is almost same the only difference is in ingredients. Are you ready? Lets start.

Refined flour                                                                         500gm

Onions                                                                                    400gm

Green chillies                                                                        25gm

Potatoes                                                                                1kg

Green peas                                                                            100gm

Lime                                                                                        1

Mustard seeds                                                                      5gm

Coriander leaves                                                                  1 bunch

Cumin leaves                                                                         1 bunch

Curry leaves                                                                           spring

Turmeric                                                                                 Half spoon

Fat                                                                                            50gm

Oil                                                                                             To deep fry

Salt                                                                                            For taste

Potato Samosa Method

Sift flour adding fat, salt and cold water and make soft dough. Cover and set aside for 1 hour. Boil potaoes peel and cut into small pieces.  Boil green peas. Chop onions and green chilies. Wash and cut coriander and cumin leaves.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, as they crackle add curry leaves, potatoes, green peas, chopped onions, green chilies, turmeric,lime,  coriander leaves, cumin leaves and salt. Cook for 10 minutes on low flame. Mix dough and divide into small portions.

Roll out each portion into a round abot 3” inches. Cut the centre piece and make a cone shape of each portion. Put the prepared mixture in it and seal edges by using little water. Fry in deep oil till light brown and serve hot with tomato sauce.
